CARAMEL DATE PIE


Ingredients for base:
  • Flour 8 ounce
  • Butter 4 ounce
  • Sugar 2 ounce
  • Egg 1
Ingredients for filling:
  • Soft dates 250 gms
  • Remove seeds
  • Butter 1 ounce
  • Creamy peanut butter 1 cup
Ingredients for caramel sauce:
  • Butter 2 tbsp
  • Brown sugar half cup
  • Vanilla essence half tsp
  • Golden syrup 1 tbsp
  • Cream 200 gms
  • Walnuts 1 cup chopped
Method for base:
  • Sieve flour add butter and sugar. Mix, add egg knead with chilled water if required. Spread in an 8 inch pie plate. Prick base and bake blind for 20 mins. Remove and keep aside.
Method for filling:
  • Cook butter and dates together for 10 mins. Add peanut butter. Cook for another 5 mins till well mixed. Remove. Pout this mixture on the base spread and topped with chopped walnuts to cover the top
Methods for sauce:
  • Heat 2 ounce butter, add brown sugar. Vanilla, golden syrup mix add cream. Cook steering till thick. Remove and drizzle over pie with a spoon.
