Coffee Crumble Cake


Ingredients for Cake:
  • Butter 100 g
  • Brown Sugar 8 oz.
  • Caster Sugar ½ cup
  • Eggs 3
  • Flour 2 cups
  • Baking Powder ½ tsp
  • Baking Soda ½ tsp
  • Cinnamon 1 tsp
  • Salt ½ tsp
  • Buttermilk 1 cup
  • Vanilla Essence 1 tsp
  • Apple (Peeled, chopped) 2 cups
Ingredients for Crumble Topping:
  • Brown Sugar ½ cup
  • Flour ½ cup
  • Cinnamon ½ tsp
  • Nutmeg Powder ½ tsp
  • Salt A pinch
  • Butter (Melted) 100 g
Method:
  • Grease a 9 by 9 inch square pan.Beat butter and sugar till creamy. Add egg, one at a time alternating with flour and buttermilk. Add vanilla essence. Fold in apples. Spread mixtures in a pan topped with crumbles and bake at 180 C for 45 minutes.
Method for Crumble:
  • Mix brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg powder and pinch of salt in a bowl.Mix in melted butter with your hands to form crumbs. Sprinkle crumble over the batter and bake.
