AFGHANI BEEF RICE


Ingredients:
  • Rice 500 gm
  • Beef ½ kg
  • Onion 1
  • Raisins ½ cup
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Carrot (grated) 1
  • Crushed black pepper 1 tsp
  • Garlic (chopped) 2-3
  • Yogurt 1 cup
  • Cardamom ½ tsp
  • Cinnamon 2 sticks
  • Cloves 3-4
  • Sugar 1 tbsp
  • Oil 2-3 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
Method:
  • Take 2-3 tbsp oil in the pan and sauté 2 cinnamon sticks and 3-4 cloves in it. Add in 1 onion, 2-3 garlic ad ½ kg beef. Cook it well then add in 1 cup yogurt, 1 tsp crushed black pepper, ½ tsp crushed cardamom, salt and 1 tsp cumin seeds. When the mixture dries and oil starts separating then add in 1 – 1 ½ jug of water and leave it to cook. When the beef tenders and stock is prepared add in rice. Take a pan and add in 1 grated carrot, ½ cup raisins, 1 tbsp sugar and water. Cook it for 3- 5 minutes. Put this mixture in the pulao and serve.
