AFGHANI BEEF RICE
Ingredients:
- Rice 500 gm
- Beef ½ kg
- Onion 1
- Raisins ½ cup
- Cumin seeds 1 tsp
- Carrot (grated) 1
- Crushed black pepper 1 tsp
- Garlic (chopped) 2-3
- Yogurt 1 cup
- Cardamom ½ tsp
- Cinnamon 2 sticks
- Cloves 3-4
- Sugar 1 tbsp
- Oil 2-3 tbsp
- Salt to taste
Method:
- Take 2-3 tbsp oil in the pan and sauté 2 cinnamon sticks and 3-4 cloves in it. Add in 1 onion, 2-3 garlic ad ½ kg beef. Cook it well then add in 1 cup yogurt, 1 tsp crushed black pepper, ½ tsp crushed cardamom, salt and 1 tsp cumin seeds. When the mixture dries and oil starts separating then add in 1 – 1 ½ jug of water and leave it to cook. When the beef tenders and stock is prepared add in rice. Take a pan and add in 1 grated carrot, ½ cup raisins, 1 tbsp sugar and water. Cook it for 3- 5 minutes. Put this mixture in the pulao and serve.
