Steam Spicy Vegetarian Buns
Ingredients for Bun
- Yeast 1 tbsp
- Lukewarm water ½ cup
- Sugar 2 tbsp
- Flour 250 gm
- Butter 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
Ingredients for Filling
- Capsicum half
- Celery stick 1
- Onion chopped 1
- Carrot chopped 1
- Black olives 2 – 3
- Green chilies chopped 3 – 4
- Garlic chopped 3 cloves
- Cabbage ¼ piece
- Leek 1 small piece
- Ginger chopped 1 medium piece
- Crushed red pepper 1 tsp
- Corn flour 1 tbsp
- Lemon juice 1 tbsp
- Black pepper powder ½ tsp
- Butter 2 tbsp
- Tomato paste 2 tbsp
- Worchester shire sauce 2 tbsp
- Coriander leaves 2 tbsp
- Mint leave chopped 2 tbsp
- Oil 2 – 3 tbsp
- Salt to taste
Method
- In a bowl mix together 250 gm flour, 1 tbsp yeast, 2 tbsp sugar, 2 tbsp butter and ½ cup lukewarm water. Knead to dough.Cover with a plastic and keep aside for 10 – 15 minutes.Heat 2 – 3 tbsp oil in a wok, add 1 piece og chopped ginger and 3 cloves of chopped garlic. Fry a little.
- Now add 2 – 3 black olives, 1 celery stick, 1 piece of leek, 1 chopped carrot, half capsicum, 1 chopped spring onion, 3 – 4 chopped green chilies, 1 chopped spring onion, 2 tbsp coriander leaves, 2 tbsp mint leaves, ¼ bunch of chopped cabbage, ½ tsp black pepper, 2 tbsp Worchester shire sauce, 2 tbsp lemon juice, 2 tbsp tomato paste, salt to taste and 1 tsp chili powder. Cook for 6 – 7 minutes.
- Lastly add a little corn flour and mix well.Remove from fire and keep aside.Now form balls with dough. Roll each ball.Put a little vegetable mixture in centre of each ball. Brush edges with water and fold to make ball again.
- Brush each with a little butter. Now put in steamer and cook for 8 – 10 minutes.Remove and serve.
