Fish stew


Ingredients
  • Fish fillet 1/2kg
  • Finely chopped onion 1
  • Finely chopped red capsicum 1
  • Bay leaves 2
  • Diced potatoes 2
  • Boiled and chopped tomatoes 2-3
  • Water 1 cup
  • Finely chopped fresh red chilies 2-3
  • Minced garlic 2-3 cloves
  • Whole cumin 1tsp
  • Coriander powder 1tsp
  • Cumin powder 1tsp
  • Red chili powder 1tsp
  • Turmeric 1tsp
  • Finely chopped coriander 2tbsp
  • Oil 3tbsp
  • Salt as required
Method:-
  • Heat 3tbsp oil in wok .Add 1tsp whole cumin and fry for a few seconds..Add 2-3 cloves on minced garlic, 1 finely chopped onion, 2-3 finely chopped fresh red chilies, 2 bay leaves and 1 finely chopped red capsicum. Fry until the onions turn golden brown in color. 
  • Now add 1tsp coriander powder, 1tsp cumin powder and 1tsp turmeric powder. Stir for 1-2 minutes.Add the diced potatoes 1 cup water and 3 chopped tomatoes. Cover and simmer until the potatoes are tender.
  • Add the diced fish fillet and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Increase the flame and cook until the gravy thickens and the oil forms a separate layer.The delicious fish stew is ready to serve.
