Zafraani zarda khoya
Ingredients
- Boiled rice ½ kg
- Sugar 250 grams
- Khoya 250 grams
- Clarified butter 250 grams
- Cardamom 6
- Zafran ½ tsp
- Kewra ½ tsp
- Orange food color ½ tsp
- Raisins 2 tbsp
- Almonds/pistachios 2 tbsp
- Coconut 2tbsp
- Asharfiyan 2 tbsp
Method
- In a pan boil ½ kg rice and add ½ tsp orange food color and then sieve.Now in another pan heat 250 grams clarified butter and add 6 cardamoms.As the aroma arises from cardamoms add 250 grams sugar and ½ cup of water.
- When the syrup gets ready add 2 tbsp almonds and pistachios, ½ tsp zafran, 2 tbsp asharfiyan, 2 tbsp raisins, 2 tbsp coconut, 250 grams khoya and ½ tsp kewra in rice. Cover the pan and leave it for half an hour. Delicious special zarda is ready to serve.
