Zafraani zarda khoya


Ingredients
  • Boiled rice ½ kg
  • Sugar 250 grams
  • Khoya 250 grams
  • Clarified butter 250 grams
  • Cardamom 6
  • Zafran ½ tsp
  • Kewra ½ tsp
  • Orange food color ½ tsp
  • Raisins 2 tbsp
  • Almonds/pistachios 2 tbsp
  • Coconut 2tbsp
  • Asharfiyan 2 tbsp
Method 
  • In a pan boil ½ kg rice and add ½ tsp orange food color and then sieve.Now in another pan heat 250 grams clarified butter and add 6 cardamoms.As the aroma arises from cardamoms add 250 grams sugar and ½ cup of water.
  • When the syrup gets ready add 2 tbsp almonds and pistachios, ½ tsp zafran, 2 tbsp asharfiyan, 2 tbsp raisins, 2 tbsp coconut, 250 grams khoya and ½ tsp kewra in rice. Cover the pan and leave it for half an hour. Delicious special zarda is ready to serve.
