Sabut Masoor Masala


Ingredients
  • 250 grams masoor ki daal
  • 2 onions
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 4 green chilies
  • ½ bunch fresh coriander
  • ½ cup oil
  • 50 grams dry khatai
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp sliced garlic
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp red chili powder
Method
  1. Boil 250 grams masoor ki daal with ½ tsp turmeric powder. When lentils are boiled, drain away excess water. In a pan, heat ½ cup oil and sauté 2 chopped onions. When onion turns to a nice golden brown, add 1 tbsp chopped garlic and stir until it becomes fragrant. 
  2. Then add 2 chopped tomatoes, 50 grams dry khatai, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 2 tsp red chili powder and ½ tsp salt and stir well. 
  3. Now add lentils, ½ bunch chopped fresh coriander and 4 green chilies and allow simmering for 10 minutes. Daal Sabut Masoor Masala is ready to serve.
