Sabut Masoor Masala
Ingredients
- 250 grams masoor ki daal
- 2 onions
- 2 tomatoes
- 4 green chilies
- ½ bunch fresh coriander
- ½ cup oil
- 50 grams dry khatai
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tbsp sliced garlic
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tsp red chili powder
Method
- Boil 250 grams masoor ki daal with ½ tsp turmeric powder. When lentils are boiled, drain away excess water. In a pan, heat ½ cup oil and sauté 2 chopped onions. When onion turns to a nice golden brown, add 1 tbsp chopped garlic and stir until it becomes fragrant.
- Then add 2 chopped tomatoes, 50 grams dry khatai, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 2 tsp red chili powder and ½ tsp salt and stir well.
- Now add lentils, ½ bunch chopped fresh coriander and 4 green chilies and allow simmering for 10 minutes. Daal Sabut Masoor Masala is ready to serve.
