Prawn Masala


Ingredients
  • ½ kg prawns
  • 3 tomatoes
  • ¼ bunch fresh coriander
  • 6 cloves of garlic
  • 1 medium piece of ginger
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin powder
  • 1 tbsp hot spices powder
  • 2 tbsp tamarind paste
  • 2 tbsp red chili powder
  • Oil as required
  • Salt to taste
Method
  1. In a wok, heat oil and sauté /2 kg prawns. When prawns are cooked, keep aside. In a separate wok, stir together 1 medium piece of ginger and 6 cloves of garlic. 
  2. Also add 3 tomatoes, ¼ bunch fresh coriander, 1 tbsp cumin powder, 1 tbsp hot spices powder, 1 tsp mustard seeds, 2 tbsp tamarind paste, 2 tbsp red chili powder, 1 tsp turmeric powder and salt to taste.
  3. Allow cooking on low flame for 8 to 10 minutes. When all ingredients are well combined, add fried prawns and cook on high flame for 2 to 5 minutes. Delicious Prawn Masala is ready to serve.
