Shah Jehani Koftae


Ingredients
  • 1 kg Mince chicken
  • 1 Brown onions
  • 4 Bread slices
  • 6 Finely chopped green chilies
  • 8 Small cardamoms
  • 8 Almonds
  • 1 bunch Finely chopped coriander
  • ½ bunch Finely chopped mint leaves
  • 1tsp All spice powder
  • Salt as required
Ingredients for For gravy
  • 1 cup Yogurt
  • 1 cup Oil
  • 3 Chopped onions
  • 4 Chopped green chilies
  • 10 Boiled and chopped almonds
  • 1 packet Fresh cream
  • 1 tsp White pepper
  • 1 tsp All spice powder
  • 1 tsp Powdered white cumin
  • 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  • Salt as required
Method
  1. In a food processor chop together all the ingredients with the mince except for the chopped coriander, mint and green chilies.
  2. Now add the green chilies,coriander and mint leaves.Shape the meat into medium sized koftas and shallow fry till they turn golden brown.
  3. In a large pan fry the chopped onions till they turn golden brown.Place them on an absorbent paper and crush them.
  4. In a mixing bowl add 1 cup yogurt along with the crushed onions,1tbsp ginger garlic paste,1tsp white pepper ,1tsp powdered cumin and 1tsp all spice powder.
  5. Heat oil in a pan and fry the yogurt mixture for 3-4 minutes. Now add the fried koftas along with 1 cup water. Cook for five minutes .Add 1 packet of beaten fresh cream , cover and simmer for another 5 minutes.
  6. Garnish with almonds, chopped coriander and green chilies.The shah-jehani koftas are ready to serve.
