Halwa poori


Ingredients For Halwa
  • ½ kg Semolina
  • ½ kg Sugar
  • 1 cup Clarified butter
  • 4 to 5 Cardamom
  • Kewra essence few drops
  • Almond pistachio as required
  • 1/3 tsp Food color
Ingredients For puri
  • ½ kg White flour
  • 1 pinch Baking soda
  • Oil for fry
  • Salt as required
  • 2 to 3 tbsp Clarified butter
Method
  1. To make the puris take a mixing bowl and add ½ kg white flour(maida),2-3 tbsp ghee, a pinch of baking soda and a pinch of salt. Mix well till a smooth dough is formed.
  2. Divide the dough into equal portions and roll into small balls. With the help of a rolling pin, roll each ball into thin circular discs. Deep fry the puris on a high flame until they turn light brown.
  3. To make the halwa take a pan and cook 1/2kg of semolina on a medium flame till it changes color. Add 1cup ghee, 4-5 small cardamoms and ½ kg sugar. Mix well until the sugar dissolves. 
  4. Then add chopped almonds and pistachios followed by 1/3tsp yellow food color. Continue stirring until the semolina is fully cooked and its texture turns smooth. 
  5. Lastly add a few drops of kewra and garnish with chopped almonds and pistachios.
