- 10 lasagne sheets
- 1/4 kg (undercut) beef mince
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1 small onions
- 1/2 tsp red chillies crushed
- 1 tsp mixed italian herbs
- salt to taste
- crushed black pepper as required
- 7-8 fresh basil
- olive oil as required
Ingredients for tomato sauce
- 1 can pureed tomatoes
- 2 cloves garlic
- olive oil as required
- salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- crushed black pepper as required
- 1/4 tsp oregano
- a pinch mixed italian herbs
- some crushed red chillies if u wish to fire it up!
Ingredients for white sauce
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1-1/2 tbsp flour
- 2-1/4 cup milk (room temp)
- 3 tbsp cheddar cheese grated
- 2 tbsp grated mozeralla cheese
- black pepper as required
- salt (only if required after adding cheese)
Directions
- first make the mince... heat oil in a pan add garlic n stir for a minute then add the onions. cook the onions till transparent.
- Add the mince and cook for a further 5 mintues. season with salt, pepper n crushed chillies.the meat will leave its juices continue cooking!
- Add the dry herbs and cook till the juices dry up and taste it to make sure whether you require any further seasoning.Add the fresh basil. Set the mince aside to cool.
- Now make the tomato sauce. heat some oil in a pan add the garlic saute for a minute and then add the tomatoe purree along with all the seasonings and cook till you get a boil. taste to see if any further seasoning is required. Add some fresh basil leaves and set aside to cool.
- For the white sauce take a saucepan and on a low medium flame heat the butter till it begins to melt and then add the flour keep stirring cook for approx 3 to 4 mins turn down the heat and gradually add the milk. use to whisk to avoid any lumps from forming.
- Cook till its a thick consistensy and then add the seasoning turn off the heat and add the cheese. allow this to cool.
- Grease an over proof dish put a small amount of tomato sauce then the lasagne sheet. layered this with the meat and then the tomato sauce topped with the white sauce and some shredded cheese.
- On this place another layer of lasagne and repeat the same process till u end with the white sauce. Sprinkle some cheese on the top and place in a preheated oven and bake for 30 mins. let the cheese turn a golden brown on top,
