Cumin Pulao

Cumin Pulao

Ingredients
  • ½ kg Basmati rice
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 sticks Cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp Whole black pepper
  • 3 to 5 Cloves
  • 2 Black cardamom
  • ¼ tsp White cumin
  • 1 Onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp Ginger, garlic paste
  • 100 ml Oil
Directions
  1. Soak ½ kg basmati rice for half an hour.In a medium cooking pot, heat 100 ml oil.
  2. When oil is heated, add 1 tsp ginger garlic paste and cook for a few minutes.Add a medium finely chopped onion and fry till it turns golden brown.
  3. Add 2 cinnamon sticks, ¼ tsp whole black pepper, 3 black cardamom, 3 cloves and ¼ tsp white cumin and cook for a few minutes.Add 2 to 3 cups of water.
  4. When water comes to boil, add soaked rice.Cover the lid and let it cook on a medium flame till water dries up and rice cooks completely.Your Cumin Pulao is ready.
