Chocolate rings


Ingredients for base
  • Butter 200 gm
  • Caster sugar 100 gm
  • Flour 300 gm
  • Egg 1
  • Vanilla essence 1 tsp
Method for base
  • Beat butter well with caster sugar, beat till fluffy, add in egg, fold in flour, put mixture on the table and knead with a soft hand to form into a dough, sprinkle flour on table, roll the dough, cut with a large size of pastry cutter, keep putting in a tart tray.
Ingredients for butter cream filling
  • Butter 4 ounces
  • Icing sugar 6 ounces
Method
  • Beat butter and in sieved icing sugar, beat for 10 minutes till fluffy, keep aside.
Ingredients for glazed icing
  • Icing sugar 200 gm
  • Coco powder 1 tbsp
  • Butter cream 1 tbsp
  • Water 2 to 3 tbsp
Method for icing
  • In a sauce pan mix icing sugar, coco powder, butter cream and sugar, mix well and slightly warm on low heat, stirring for 1 minute. Remove.
  • Method for chocolate rings,Roll the dough cut 2 rounds with large pastry cutter in 1 round cut with a small cutter, bake on 150 degree for 20 minutes, remove, cool then sandwich these 2 rings with butter cream, cover the second ring with hole with glazed icing. Decorate with chopped pistachio or almonds.
