Sanbar wada


Ingredients for wada
  • White lentil 250 gm soaked for 4 hours
  • Salt ½ tsp
  • Green chilies 4 chopperize
  • Onion 1 coarsely chopperize
  • Curry leaves 15 coarsely chopperize
  • Crushed black pepper ½ tsp
  • Crushed cumin ½ tsp
  • Oil for frying
Ingredients for sanbar
  • Pigeon lentil 200 gm
  • Tamarind paste 2 tbsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Turmeric ½ tsp
  • Sanbar masala 2 tbsp
  • Green chilies chopped 3
  • Curry leaves 15
  • Mustard seeds ½ tsp
  • Chili powder 1 tsp
  • Soda by carb ¼ tsp
  • Oil ¼ cup
Method for sanbar
  • Boil daal with 4 cups water salt turmeric, chili powder till tender, blend daal and give baghar, heat ¼ cup oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, curry leaves, salt, sanbar masala, pour the mixture over daal with tamarind paste, mix well, cook for 15 minutes until done, serve with wada.
Method for wada
  • Wash and soak white lentil for 4 hour, drain daal and grind to a fine paste, beat well, add salt, chopperized green chilies, onion and curry leaves, crushed black pepper and cumin, just before frying add ¼ tsp soda by carb, make wadas with hole in the centre, deep fry till golden.
