Nargisi Koftay


Ingredients
  • Mince beef ½ kg
  • Whipped egg 1
  • Egg white 1
  • Boiled egg 4
  • Cloves 4
  • Water 1 cup
  • Green chilies 2-3
  • Ginger 1 medium piece
  • Black pepper corn 1/2tsp
  • Gram flour 3tbsp
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt as required
  • Ingredients for gravy
  • Ghee 1/4cup
  • Yogurt 125g
  • Onion 1
  • Boiled and finely chopped tomatoes 4
  • Bay leaves 1-2
  • Water 1cup
  • Coriander leaves a few
  • Turmeric 1tsp
  • Red chili powder 1tsp
  • Coriander powder 1tsp
  • Dry fenugreek 1tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 2tbsp
  • Salt as required
  • All spice 1tsp
Method
  • In a wok add ½ kg mince beef with 4 cloves,1/2tso black pepper corns,4 cloves of garlic 2-3 green chilies,1 piece of ginger, salt as required and 1 cup water.Cook on a medium flame .Remove and allow to cool. Then finely chop the mince in a food processor.Simultaneously add 3tbsp gram flour and 1 egg.
  • When the mince beef is smooth divide in 4-6 equal portions, flatten each portion with your hands .Place an egg in the middle and shape into koftas.Beat an egg white, and dip each kofta in it.Heat oil in a wok and deep fry the koftas until they turn golden brown in color.
  • To prepare the gravy heat ¼ cup ghee in a pan add 1 chopped onion along with the bay leaves.When the onions turn golden brown add 2tbsp ginger garlic paste 1tsp turmeric,1tsp red chili powder,1tsp coriander rpowder,1tsp all spice powder.125 g yogurt,4 chopped tomatoes, salt as require and 1 cup water. 
  • Cook until the oil come son top, when the gravy thickens turn the flame off.Slice each kofta length wise and spread on a serving dish.Top with gravy and garnish with chopped coriander leaves and dry fenugreek leaves.
