Chicken Ala king with Dumpling


Ingredients
  • Chicken boneless 1 cup
  • Water 2 ½ cup
  • Peas boiled ½ cup
  • Carrot boiled ½ cup
  • Onion ½ cup
  • Cream ¼ cup
  • Chicken cubes 2
  • Flour 3 tbsp
  • Lemon juice 2 tsp
  • Black pepper powder ½ tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil 6 tbsp
Ingredients for Dumpling
  • Flour 1 ½ cup
  • Milk ½ cup
  • Water 1/8 cup
  • Yeats 1 tsp
  • Sugar 2 tsp
  • Salt ½ tsp
  • Oil 1 tbsp
  • Egg yolk 1
Method for Dumpling
  1. In a bowl mix together 1 ½ cup flour, ½ cup milk, 1 tsp yeast, 2 tsp sugar, ½ tsp salt, 1 tbsp shortening and knead to dough with 1/8 cup of water or more. Cover and keep side for 2 hours.
  2. Method for Chicken Ala King, In a pan heat 6 tbsp oil, fry ½ cup boiled peas, ½ cup boiled carrot, ½ cup onion and remove. In the remaining oil add 3 tbsp flour and fry till its color turn to brown. Now add 1 cup boneless chicken with 2 chicken cubes dissolved in 2 ½ cup of water.
  3. Add ¼ cup cream, 2 tsp lemon juice, ½ tsp black pepper powder and salt to taste. Cook for few minutes. Dish it out, make a string of dough, spread around the curry. 
  4. Cut it into pieces with a scissors. Cover and keep aside till rise to double. Brush with 1 egg yolk and sprinkle black pepper powder in centre. Now bake in a pre heated oven of 180 degrees for 20 minutes.
