White Koftay
Ingredients for Kofty
- Mince ½ kg
- Ginger garlic paste 2 tsp
- Salt 1 tsp
- All spice 1 tsp
- Green cardamom powder ½ tsp
- Nutmeg grinded ¼ tsp
- Bread 1 slice
- Milk ¼ cup
- Ghee 2 tsp
- Egg beaten 1
- Onion 1
- Green chilies 6
- Poppy seeds 1 tbsp
Ingredients for Gravy
- Oil ½ cup
- Onion 1 grinded
- Coriander powder 1 tsp
- Cumin powder 1 tsp
- Saffron ¼ tsp
- White pepper ½ tsp
- All spice ½ tsp
- Fresh cream ½ cup
- Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp heaped
- Flour 1 tsp
- Yogurt whipped 1 cup
- Milk 2 tbsp
Method for Kofta
- Soak bread slice in ¼ cup milk, grind together 1 onion, 6 green chilies and 1 tbsp poppy seeds finely, mix it in the ½ kg mince with 2 tsp ginger garlic paste, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp all spice, ½ tsp ground green cardamom and ¼ tsp ground nutmeg, mix well, now mix in 2 tsp ghee, 1 beaten egg and the 1 soaked bread slice, mix all very well, make into round balls and keep aside.
- Method for Gravy ,Mixed together ½ cup cream, 2 tbsp milk, 1 cup yogurt and 1 tsp flour, heat ½ cup oil in a pan, fry 1 ground onion, add 1 tsp ginger garlic paste with 1 tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp cumin powder, ½ tsp white pepper and ½ tsp all spice, fry well, add in cream-yogurt mixture, cook stirring continuously till it boils, add koftas and simmer on low flame, shaking the pan from time to time, when koftas are done, add saffron, serve hot with paratha.
