Green Masala Biryani


Ingredients
  • Chicken (cut into 12 pieces) 1 kg
  • Rice 750 gm
  • Brown onion 1 cup
  • Yogurt 1 cup
  • Oil ¾ cup
  • Green chilies ground 15
  • All spice 1 tsp heaped
  • Salt 2 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
Ingredients for Green Masala
  • Coriander leaves ½ bunch
  • Almonds 12
  • Kewra water as required
  • Desiccated coconut 2 tbsp
Method
  1. Soak rice for 30 minutes, boil rice with 1 tbsp salt and 1 tsp whole spice, heat ¾ cup oil, add ½ cup brown onion, 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste, 15 ground green chilies and 2 tsp salt, fry well, add 1 kg chicken with ground green Masala, fry for 5 minutes, then add 1 cup yogurt, cover and cook till chicken is done, in a pan spread ½ rice, top with chicken mixture, remaining fried onion, left over rice and kewra water simmer for 15 minutes.
