Sweet and Sour Chicken
Ingredients
- 300 grams boneless chicken
- 1 egg
- 1 capsicum
- 1 tomato
- 1 spring onion
- 3 pineapple rings
- ½ cup water
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp plain flour
- 2 tbsp corn flour
- 4 tbsp tomato ketchup
- 4 tbsp white vinegar
- 4 tbsp oil
- 1 ½ tbsp corn flour
- Oil for frying
- Salt to taste
Method
- Slice 300 grams chicken. Add a beaten egg, 2 tbsp plain flour, 2 tbsp corn flour, salt to taste and ½ tsp black pepper and mix. Deep fry chicken slices in hot oil. In a pan, heat some oil and sauté 1 tsp garlic paste.
- When garlic paste begins to change color, add chopped capsicum, tomato, spring onion, onion, pineapple, salt to taste, chicken and water and stir together for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Then add 4 tbsp tomato ketchup, 4 tbsp white vinegar, 2 tbsp sugar and remaining spices and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes. Then add ½ cup water and bring to a boil.
- When water begins to boil, thicken the mixture with 1 ½ tbsp corn flour. Stir together for another couple of minutes and serve hot Sweet and Sour Chicken.
