Puri


Ingredients
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 2 cups self raising flour
  • 1tsp sugar
  • 2tbsp oil
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt to taste
Method
  1. In a bowl mix together 1 cup plain flour, 2 cups of self raising flour, salt and 2tbsp of oil. Gradually add water and knead till a smooth dough is formed. Cover and leave aside for the dough to rise.
  2. Divide the dough into portions and shape into small balls. Brush each ball of puri with oil.Heat oil in a wok and fry the puris, making sure while frying you press the puri with a steel spoon. 
  3. This enables the puri to rise.Place the puri on an absorbent paper and serve.
