Beef Satay
Ingredients
- 300 gm Beef undercut (cut into 1 1/2 inch cubes)
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 1/4 tsp Ginger paste
- 1 Red chilli deseeded and chopped fine
- Salt
- Black pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp Wooster sauce
- 1 tsp Sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp Rice vinegar
Ingredients for the Peanut Sauce
- 1 Onion finely chopped
- 3 tbsp Chopped peanuts
- Oil as required
- 1/4 cup Smooth peanut butter
- 1 tbsp Sweet chilli sauce
- 3/4 cup Coconut milk
- Salt to taste
- Lemon juice
Method
- Marinate beef in Worcestershire sauce, garlic, ginger, red chilli, salt, pepper, sesame oil and rice vinegar. and leave in the refridgerator for 1 -2 hours. Thread the cubes onto the wooden skewers and grill on a preheated grill pan for 15 minutes or until cooked.
- To make the sauce. heat oil in a pan add the onions and saute till golden and tender then add the peanuts and saute for 2 minutes adding the peanut butter, sweet chilli sauce , salt and cook for a further minute or 2.
- Reduce the heat and add the coconut milk and combine well. remove from heat and add a dash of lemon juice,serve the sauce by pouring over the skewers or on a bowl on the side.
